When people are looking into getting involved in a church they want one that is small enough to be known and needed, but also one that is large enough to be able to attempt great things.HighPoint Baptist Church is one of those churches that offer the best of both worlds.
Summer Sundays @ HighPoint!
HighPoint does summers...different. Between July and September we adjust our schedule to be part of a unique way of doing church.
In the hours before Sunday School while many families are getting dressed, there are teams from HP on the streets of Covington interacting with the homeless. They are passing out water, listening to the stories of life on the street and getting to know the men and women by name. In turn they get to share the Story of Jesus with the many people they encounter.
In spite of this early morning activity we keep our Sunday School hour at 9:30am and Worship time at 10:30am.
Then 5pm comes and things change. During the summer HP works on a 3 activity rotation of Worship, Service and Fellowship. Below is the 5PM schedule through the first week of August.
June 29th -- Threads (College and Career) feeding the homeles in Covington. No 5PM activities @ HP.
July 6th -- 5pm Worship at HighPoint.
July 13th -- Church wide sing at the Baptist Home. No 5pm activities at HP.
July 20th -- Fun, food and fellowship. Picnic, corn hole, volley ball, kids playing in the yard, the church being a family. This is our 5pm activity.
July 27th -- 5PM Worship at HighPoint.
August 3rd -- Pastor Ron's 16th Anniversary. Sunday School/AM Worship/Dinner in the Gym/ Dismiss
April 17, 1820 a few pioneering families met together for what would become the HighPoint Baptist Church of Alexandria KY.
These Christians didn't posses any of the amenities that we tie to church life such as buildings and choirs. They had the Gospel and the authority of the Bible to plant a church in what was then Kentucky wilderness.
Over 190 years later we still benefit from the sacrifice of those pioneers. Many of whom would not even live to see the first building. Like those forefathers we cling to the power found in the Gospel and a commitment to teach all the Bible. Those things remain unchanged.
If you are interested in experiencing a church where those things are still the standard we invite you to HighPoint Baptist Church.
